"I’m a patriot and a nationalist. I love my country.

I hate that my government is hell bent on destroying my country."

Amen! Well said. May God Bless America. May God protect us and also President Trump, from our enemies both foreign and domestic. Our Republic is at great risk.

The USA, the country in question, was founded on the genocide of the red nations, and the exploitation of other peoples, particularly black peoples.

Sins for which this country has never reconciled, or recompensed.

Throw in nuking Japanese people, and that’s quite a trifecta.

Closing in on a thousand military bases around the globe, while bridges crumble, and homeless citizens, veterans, live in tents, in Minnesota, in the winter.

Gun violence, a now normalized, daily activity.

And, now, a new war with Russia, and soon China.

Haven’t won one yet, unless you count Grenada, or Panama.

I don’t think very highly of the USA, or it’s people.

I haven’t since Vietnam.

We enjoy a wasteful, high standard of living, which I see as supplemented, by our government’s, and military’s, theft of other country’s resources, on behalf of big business, and big finance.

That’s what Smedly Butler said, anyway.

His words ring true to me.

This is exactly why Mark Twain's words above should ring true to you. You have to look at the principles on which this country was founded. Were they good? --'Liberty and Justice for all'. (Yes, I know there was still slavery but for many the goal was eventual freedom for all.) As Mark Twain alluded to, when a democratic government becomes about perpetuating its own power, rather than the good of the people, then true patriots must rise up and resist this tyranny. The problem is that we as Americans have become lazy and not been actively watching over our government's actions so that now the Federal government is a behemoth, run mostly for elite self-interests, and it seems unstoppable. We can't all sit back and eat off the fattened calf and then complain about how evil it is. We are part of the problem. "The cost of freedom is eternal vigilance"- Thomas Jefferson. - WE have not been vigilant.

Brad Miller expressed these concepts perfectly. When one accepts all the definitions as he outlined, (and which I've often stated as well...remember too "I Love My Country--It's My government I'm Afraid Of." ) it leaves little alternative than to see current government's actions as a war against our country. "None Dare Call It Treason" but I do.

I LOVE my Canada, just not the psychopaths and foreign agents who are currently running it in various "governmental" positions and heading up various provincial health departments. I am horrified by the "law enforcement" who are carrying out the agenda of the foreign parasitic maggots who have no regard for the environment or any living organisms on the planet other than themselves and their ilk.....soooo tired of all the BS each day and it is getting worse. I continue to believe that God has his plan and that love wins in the end...just not sure how much global citizens will have to endure before that happens. Blessings and thanks as always for your amazing Substack articles Brad!

I never liked the word Nationalism. Certainly growing up and studying history that word always conjured up memories of Teddy Roosevelt and his band of imperialists that considered the U.S. above other nations. Hasn't it always been that way in America? Don't much care for the word Patriotism either. That always reminds me of the pledge of allegiance demanded every school morning. Lies in our history books, but love your country no matter what. How about just loving the good side of humanity?

What I love about this post is that you’re putting relevant and true definitions to words that have unfortunately become weaponized (against the very place that people still flock-to in search of freedom). It’s plausible many feel the same way...I sure do. I love America. The U.S., not so much. They are two vastly different things, with different jurisdictions.

Once I discovered that the US is a gluttonous, blood-thirsty, Babylonian, foreign, satanic, parent Crown Corporation, and nothing more, I was able to see the matrix more clearly. Nearly everything these criminals do is deceptive and false.

The U.S. is NOT a government, it’s a company full of corporate fictions and titles. I repeat, it’s a company…with a corporate hierarchy, and anyone calling themselves; citizen, person, resident, alien, human, Mr., Ms., Miss, Mrs., driver, defendant, student, employee, employer, (and any number of thousands of other titles, assumptions, presumptions, and tacit agreements), is not a man nor a woman. Only man and woman are owed rights endowed by God. You can read about it in City of Dallas v Mitchell from 1922.

The Land and Soil jurisdictions being run by the We the People government of each state recognized by The United States of America (unincorporated) is the Land of the free. Men are men, and women are women.

“The pen is mightier than the sword”, and I’m calling upon all the living souls on our Land to correct the public records and declare their birthright status as men and women, and help us assemble to restore our Land and Soil jurisdictions so we can be the self-governing People that our Founders envisioned we would be.

Thanks again for your great post, Brad, and thanks to @James Lyons-Weiler for letting me know about this Substack! Sharing is caring 👍🏻😊

I am not sure I love any country right now, but I do feel I am a Patriot in that I try my best to hold to the Oath of Naturalization that I took, notably:

"I will support and defend the Constitution"

And as Canadian-born, I proudly consider myself part of "The Fringe"

Patriotism is the same as Zionism. It is the irrational belief that the country/corporation you live in is beyond criticism. It is how they get the citizens to get behind the corruption and wars. Basically a mental illness in my estimation.

False binary thinking there. But of course there are regressive forms, that’s always true, but doesn’t make the case. Best to focus on what is the promise of America, despite its peccadillos, and why so many want to come here. You are missing the forest for the trees.

We will have to agree to disagree. The promise of America is that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Americas early years show that it was a pirate cove and now we have one family in DC, Hollywood and in every other area that matters. One bloodline to rule them all. Its all been a lie and one big deception.

Keep the faith, comrade. The rulers may be corrupt, but humans are by and large good, and the people are waking up.

I totally disagree with your definition of patriotism. Only fools believe their country is beyond criticism and most Americans are not fools.

Expand full comment

Most Americans were fooled by covid and other deceptive propaganda.

"It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled" is often attributed to Mark Twain.

We too will have to agree to disagree. Patriotism is a trick that has been played on the citizens to suck us into believing things that just are not true. They say, support the troops. Then in 2021 they injected the troops with death. Its all a lie. If one starts from there, then and only then is there a chance.
